Jake Davis

Born in Manhattan, Jake Davis is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and nominated MTV student visionary filmmaker. While still in film school Jake was recruited by the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy to direct a short film for Nike. From the success of that collaboration, the relationship developed into several more innovative projects. Jake continued to create slice-of-life grassroots promos and industrials for Nike, as well as long-form concert videos, tour visuals, and EPK’s for Sony, Columbia, Fat Beats, and a host of other record labels.

Upon graduation in 2002, he signed on to document the Anger Management Tour featuring Eminem, Ludacris, Xzibit, Papa Roach, and the X-ecutioners. The DVD ”Built To Scratch” released by Koch Entertainment is the result of that production.

Jake’s multi award-winning student film “At Low Resolution” premiered at the inaugural Tribeca Film Festival and was invited to numerous film festivals around the globe. It’s distributed by Amazefilms and Damah Films on DVD. Jake’s second short film “Come Lovely” played the festival circuit including the Hamptons, LA, Miami, and Rhode Island International Film Festivals among others. It was also a Finalist in the Academy Awards Live Action Short category.

Jake has worked with a who’s who of the music industry, embracing every genre, including My Chemical Romance, Flyleaf, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Nelly, T.I., Snoop Dogg, Korn, OneRepublic, Hinder, Hawthorne Heights, Head Automatica, Staind, Lacuna Coil, and KT Tunstall creating music videos, live performances, and documentaries.

He is a constant collaborator with international skate/streetwear brand Supreme and is developing the feature film script “Coolhunter,” which is inspired by his work for Nike. [JakeDavisFilms.com]
