Tom Ford

Tom Ford was born in Austin, Texas, but spent most of his childhood in Sante Fe, New Mexico. During his teens, Ford moved to New York and enrolled at New York University, initially attending courses in art history. He later redirected his studies to concentrate on architecture at Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris, concluding his training at Parsons in New York. He gained international fame for his turnaround of the Gucci fashion house and the creation of the Tom Ford label. In 2009, Ford made his film directorial debut with A Single Man, which was based on the novel of the same name by Christopher Isherwood.
